We host AKC sanctioned Obedience/Rally trials each year in February. Teams consisting of a human and their dog executes basic to advanced skills in 4 Obedience and 1 Rally ring. We have people (with many different breeds of dogs) enter our trial from all over the country.
In AKC Scent Work, dogs search for cotton swabs saturated with essential oils of Birch, Anise, Clove, and Cypress. We host an AKC sanctioned Scent Work trial one weekend each year normally in December. See OTCWF’s Facebook page for more information on OTCWF’s ScentWork Trials.
We conduct educational, behavioral and performance training programs for the general public for their dogs using humane guidelines endorsed by the American Kennel Club. Through these programs dogs become better companions to their owners and canine good citizens. This reduces the likelihood of owners surrendering or abandoning these dogs to overcrowded shelters and rescue groups.
We promote participation in dog performance events using Obedience as the cornerstone. We sponsor performance matches and trials for owners and their dogs (any breed of dog except wolf-hybrids) and encourage sportsmanlike conduct in competition at these events.
